Meghan Kelly (Easton, Conn./Kent School) put the Gettysburg College women's tennis team in the win column with a victory-clinching 7-5, 7-5 win at fourth singles to seal a 5-4 decision by the Bullets against NCAA Division II Upper Iowa University on Monday, March 9.
Gettysburg (1-1) evened its season record in impressive fashion on Monday with its victory over Upper Iowa (6-3), ranked sixth in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division II Central Region rankings. Kelly and doubles partner
Katie Taylor (Ocean City, Md./Worcester Prep) helped the Bullets pluck the Peacocks tail feathers with a pair of victories. First, the duo teamed together for an 8-6 decision over Kasey Huisman and Mallery Cox, rated second in DII's Central Region, at the top doubles spot.
In singles action, Taylor took down Huisman, who was ranked 11th in her region, in straight-sets 6-4, 6-2. Kelly followed up with a hard-fought win at fourth singles to put Gettysburg up 5-2 and clinch the match.

Kelly Eurich (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown) and freshman
Candice Kashani (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) helped stake the Bullets to a 2-1 lead with an 8-6 decision at the second slot. Kashani followed up with her first singles win of the year, beating Mallery Cox 6-3, 6-1 at No. 3.
Gettysburg will aim for another victory on Tuesday, March 9, against Southern Virginia University at 8 a.m.
