2009 All-Centennial Conference Baseball Team
LANCASTER, Pa. – The Centennial Conference released its 2009 All-Conference Baseball Team Wednesday evening, and junior catcher
Craig Barrows (Whippany, N.J./Whippany Park) of Gettysburg College earned a spot on the second team.
In his first year as the team's starting backstop, Barrows enjoyed a solid season at the plate, leading the Bullets with his .370 batting average. He was even better in Centennial Conference games, when he batted .414 – also tops on the team. Platooning at catcher early in the year before taking over full-time, he finished with 20 hits – including six doubles – and 12 RBIs over 27 games (24 starts). Defensively, he posted a .965 fielding percentage and threw out seven would-be base stealers.
Gettysburg won its final three games of the season and finished 17-21. The Bullets went 7-11 in Centennial Conference play and tied for sixth in the final league standings.
