2009 Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-Region Teams

STARKVILLE, Miss. - Senior Erin Ober (Lutherville, Md./Dulaney) was named to the Louisville Slugger/National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division III All-East Region First Team following the completion of an outstanding season on the diamond with the Gettysburg College softball team. Ober is the first Bullet to cop all-region accolades in four years.

Ober was honored as one of the region’s top outfielders after posting her best season in orange and blue. She started all 38 games in center field and finished the year as the team leader in batting average (.402), runs (41), hits (49), triples (5), home runs (6), RBI (tied-31), total bases (85), slugging percentage (.697), on-base percentage (.464), and stolen bases (14). Ober also tied the school’s single-season record for home runs and posted the second-highest totals for runs and total bases.

A first-team All-Centennial Conference selection and the 2009 CC Player of the Year, Ober ranked among the conference leaders in nearly every statistical category, including leading the way in runs and triples. She closed the year as the CC Player of the Week after batting .750 (9-for-12) with nine runs scored and 10 RBI in the final week of the regular season.

Ober was a three-time All-CC pick and closed her career with a .350 batting average, ranking 10th in program history. She ranked among the school’s all-time leaders in nearly every offensive stat, including ranking second in stolen bases (34) and home runs (12), third in total bases (244), and fifth in runs scored (101) and hits (160).

Gettysburg’s last all-region selections came in 2005 when Sara Gutermuth, Jackie Pareso, and Megan Pilarcik earned spots. Gutermuth was a first-team honoree, while Pareso and Pilarcik were named to the third team.

As a team, Gettysburg finished with the second-most wins in school history with a mark of 27-10-1. The Bullets placed third in the CC with a conference mark of 11-4-1.
