IWLCA Division III Poll, Week 4 (March 15, 2010)
GRAND LAKE, Colo. – The top three teams in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association NCAA Division III poll remained the same for the fourth consecutive week with Gettysburg College holding down the third spot for the third time in four polls.
There hasn't been much movement at the top of the national poll as Franklin & Marshall College (3-0) has held strong at the top position, including totaling 392 points and 14 first-place votes in the most recent ballot. Salisbury University (7-0) maintained its standing at No. 2, receiving 382 points and five first-place votes, while Gettysburg (5-0) picked up 359 points and one first-place nod to remain in third. The entire top five stayed the same as Hamilton College (1-0) and The College of New Jersey (1-0) tallied 326 and 311 points, respectively.
Most of the positive movement in the poll came in the sixth through ninth positions where No. 6 Colby College (1-0), No. 7 Catholic University (1-2), No. 8 Stevens (2-0), and No. 9 Trinity (Conn.) (1-0) all made advances. Catholic and Stevens each jumped three spots, while Trinity made the largest leap into the top 10, moving up four spots from No. 13.
Gettysburg has two games on tap this week, beginning with a road trip to Elizabethtown College today (March 16) at 4 p.m. The Bullets close the week at Centennial Conference foe Muhlenberg College Saturday, March 20, at 1 p.m.
