INDIANAPOLIS – For the second day in a row, the Gettysburg College men's swimming team came away with an All-America performance in the relays on Day Three of the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships, held at the Indiana University Natatorium, on Friday.
The 800-freestyle relay team of freshman

Sean Staerk, and senior
Matt Libby placed third in a timed final Friday morning, and their time of 6:45.64 held up for 11th overall. The foursome smashed their school and Centennial Conference records by nearly six seconds, and they clocked splits of 1:42.59 (Potter), 1:40.46 (Leyens), 1:43.06 (Staerk), and 1:39.53 (Libby).
Potter and Libby earned their second All-America certificate of the meet, as the two also swam on the 200-freestyle relay team that finished seventh on Thursday. That relay also reset their own school and conference records, improving their marks in their preliminary race.
The top-eight seeded 800-freestyle relay teams competed during Friday's evening session. Denison University won the event with a NCAA Division III-record time of 6:30.40.
Freshman
Mike Harmon also competed during Friday's preliminaries and finished 20th in the 100-backstroke with a time of 50.98.
Heading into the fourth and final day of competition on Saturday, Gettysburg is tied for 18th in the team standings with 36 points.
The Bullets will have a competitor in each of the first two events of preliminaries on Saturday, with Libby swimming in the 100-freestyle and Harmon competing in the 200-backstroke. In addition, Gettysburg's 400-freestyle relay team of Potter, Harmon, Leyens, and Libby will become the fifth Bullet relay squad to compete. Libby is seeded 19th, Harmon is ranked 17th, and the relay team is 14th.
