WESTMINSTER, Md. – Senior Mike McLaughlin put the finishing touches on a successful career at Gettysburg College with a pair of wins to lead the Bullets tennis team to a 7-2 victory at McDaniel College on Friday.

McLaughlin earned wins at the second position in both flights for Gettysburg (8-8, 3-6 CC). He teamed with junior Johnny Nelson for an 8-5 win before rebounding from an opening-set loss to Brian Kron for a 2-6, 6-3, 6-1 decision in singles. The two wins pushed the senior into third in program history in total wins with 79. He became just the third Bullet to reach 40 career doubles wins and he finished sixth all-time with 39 singles victories. McLaughlin also led the team with 20 total wins this season.

Fellow seniors Terry Keegan and Sebastian Rodriguez also closed out outstanding careers. Paired with junior Chris Curran at the top flight, Keegan earned his 33rd career doubles win with a 8-1 decision. He finished sixth in school history in doubles decisions. Rodriguez came up empty in his final two matches, but he capped his career ranked in the program's top 10 for total wins (67), singles wins (35), and doubles wins (32). 

Nelson and Curran were also double-winners for the Bullets. Nelson fought off Daniel Xinis in a first-set tiebreaker to pull off a straight-set win at No. 6 (7-6 (5), 6-4), while Curran won easily 6-2, 6-1 over Steven French at the top flight.

Freshman John Cronin and sophomore Mike Pratt each notched a bagel in their matches at four and five, respectively. Cronin opened with a shutout (6-0) and closed with a 7-5 win over Chad Palman, while Pratt won decisively 6-3, 6-0.
