GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Gettysburg won the bottom five singles competitions to close out a 7-2 victory over visiting Ursinus College in Centennial Conference men's tennis action Saturday afternoon.
Gettysburg (6-5, 2-3 CC) picked up its second consecutive conference win as senior
Mike McLaughlin closed the day with a three-set win over Evan Lord at second singles (6-2, 4-6, 7-5. The victory marked the 75th of McLaughlin's collegiate career, tying him with Brandon Cutter '98 for fourth-place on the program's all-time list behind Joe Mesmer '80 (90 wins), Jim Breck '80 (88), and Wes Bartlett '94 (78).
The hosts secured the victory by sweeping each singles flight behind McLaughlin. Senior
Terry Keegan won 6-4, 6-4 at No. 3, senior
Sebastian Rodriguez won 7-5, 6-4 at No. 4, freshman
John Cronin won 6-4, 6-3 at No. 5, and sophomore
Mike Pratt won 6-2, 7-5 at No. 6.

Johnny Nelson opened the day with an 8-3 victory at No. 2 doubles. Junior
Chris Curran teamed with Keegan for an 8-6 win at the top flight to give Gettysburg a 2-1 lead heading into singles play.
Gettysburg returns to action with a home match against Swarthmore College on Wednesday, April 11, at 4 p.m.
