2012 All-CC Women's Golf Team
LANCASTER, Pa. – The Gettysburg College women's golf team swept the top awards in the Centennial Conference as head coach
Sue Konstalid was named Coach of the Year and sophomore
Kara McNulty was tabbed Player of the Year.
McNulty took top honors at the Centennial Conference Championship on April 28-29 to become the third Bullet to land Player of the Year, joining
Merrill Fortier '08 (2008) and
Caroline Nathan '12 (2009). McNulty led the conference and set a school record with a scoring average of 82.9 this spring. She won two tournaments on the season, capping the campaign with a two-stroke victory at the conference event. McNulty carded a 78 in the opening round of the CC Championship, marking the lowest score by a Gettysburg player in seven years. She was named All-CC First Team for the second-straight year.
Konstalid was named CC Coach of the Year for the second consecutive season after the Bullets won the conference crown for the third time in five seasons. The squad set a new scoring standard at Gettysburg by averaging 350.5 strokes per round this spring, more than 10 strokes better than the previous record set in 2010-11. Gettysburg tied its single-lowest round with a 343 on the opening day of the CC Championship and the team won four events on the year overall.
Additionally, freshman
Lauren Sobotka was named all-conference first team after tying for fifth with a 174 at the final event. Sobotka was the top scoring freshmen in the CC with an average of 88.9 this season.
