GETTYSBURG, Pa. – One of the largest collegiate cross country meets in the region will take place on Saturday with the 26th running of the Gettysburg College Invitational.
Â
In the Bullets' only home meet of the season, some 39 schools will converge on a primarily flat and fast course held on campus.
Â
The women's race will kick off the meet at 11 a.m., with the men's race to follow at noon.
Â
For both the women's and men's races, the starting area is located on the tennis court side of Mummasburg Road while the finish line is located adjacent to Clark Field. Both the women's 6,000-meter course and the men's 8,000-meter circuit loop through the western part of campus, encircling Bobby Jones Field, Quarry Pond, and Musselman Stadium.
Â
A total of 852 individuals were entered in the meet as of Wednesday.
Â
Dickinson College swept the team titles last season, with its men's team edging out Division II Lock Haven University by one point. Caleb Muller, an unattached competitor, won the men's race in 25:47 while Justin Clarke of Keystone College was the top collegiate finisher, placing third in 26:02. Kelsey Patrick of Lebanon Valley College captured the women's 6,000-meter run in 21:48.
