GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Freshman heavyweight
Paul Triandafilou (Derwood, Md./Georgetown Prep) tied the program record with a 14-second pin against Penn College and the Gettysburg College wrestling team earned three victories during a quadrangular inside Bream Gym Saturday afternoon.
Triandafilou, ranked ninth in the country by the National Wrestling Coaches Association, won all three of his matches to remain unbeaten at 14-0. His most impressive win came at the expense of Penn College as he forced Zach Kane backwards and rolled his shoulders to the mat in record time. The 14-second fall tied the program standard set by
Bobby Christopher '10 against Elizabethtown College on Jan. 16, 2010.
Gettysburg (5-3) opened the day with a 24-13 victory over King's College. Sophomore
Noah Malamut (Brooklyn, N.Y./Poly Prep) started the match with a fall in 1:27 at 125 pounds. Each of the remaining nine bouts went the distance. The Bullets jumped out to a 16-0 lead in the team scoring as sophomores

Quinn Merrigan (Canton, Mass./Canton) each scored decisions at 133 (6-2) and 149 (9-2), respectively, while classmate
Jake Bracken (Chatsworth, Calif./Harvard-Westlake School) posted a 12-3 major decision at 141 pounds.
The Monarchs won four of the next five matches. Freshman
Crawford Oswald (Haddonfield, N.J./Haddonfield Memorial) helped keep the Bullets in front by a comfortable margin with a 10-2 major decision over Rene Sousa at 174. Triandafilou polished off the victory by shutting out Fjoralb Cekici 9-0.
Gettysburg cruised past Penn College 43-9. The Bullets opened with another pin at 125 as sophomore
Lenny Ogozalek (Summit Hill, Pa./Panther Valley) tossed Ben Doll in 1:50. Freshman
Brandon Caffrey (Brooklyn, Conn./Pomfret Prep) followed up with a 12-4 major decision at 133 pounds.
After a forfeit at 141, Merrigan pinned Zach Fitzsimmons 35 seconds into the second period. The Bullets swept the final three bouts with a forfeit at 184 and a 6-4 decision by sophomore
Anthony Puca (Huntington, N.Y./Huntington) at 197 before Triandafilou's quick pin.
The hosts closed the day with a 51-6 victory over Southern Virginia University. The Bullets lost only one match and benefitted from three forfeits by the Knights. Bracken scored a big technical fall against Jayson Cody, racking up nine takedowns in the bout. Freshmen
Colin Kowalski (Derwood, Md./Georgetown Prep) and
