GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Gettysburg College wrestling team scored its first Centennial Conference victory of the season with a 35-17 win over Washington and Lee University.
Gettysburg (6-4, 1-1 CC) and Washington and Lee (6-8, 0-3 CC) featured just three bouts with six of the remaining seven resulting in forfeits. There was no match at 197 pounds.
Sophomore
Lenny Ogozalek (Summit Hill, Pa./Panther Valley) put the Bullets out in front with a technical fall over Ethan Hartman at 125 pounds. Ogozalek led 12-0 after the first round and tacked on a takedown and back points to end the match early in the second round.
The Generals scored a technical fall and pin at 133 and 141, respectively.
A handful of Gettysburg wrestlers also competed at Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology on Friday night. The Bullets wrestled in four scoring matches for a 12-4 win. Freshman
Luke Neal (Westchester, Pa./Westtown School) led the squad with a 29-second pin at 149 pounds and added a 3-2 decision in an exhibition match. Freshman
Everett Roach (La Jolla, Calif./Choate Rosemary Hall) also scored a pair of wins, logging a 9-3 decision and a 17-0 technical fall.
Gettysburg turns right back around with a conference quad on Saturday. The Bullets will face No. 20 Stevens Institute of Technology and No. 22 New York University beginning at noon. Johns Hopkins University will also compete against Stevens and NYU.
