GETTYSBURG, Pa. – One of the largest collegiate cross country meets in the region will take place on Saturday with the 28th running of the Gettysburg College Invitational.

In the Bullets' lone home meet of the season, some 32 teams will converge on a primarily flat and fast course held on campus.

The men's race, which will include 26 schools and two club teams, will kick off the meet at 10:30 a.m. The women's race will follow at 11:30 a.m. and will feature 28 schools and one club team.

For both the men's and women's races, the starting area is located on the tennis court side of Mummasburg Road while the finish line is located adjacent to Clark Field. Both the women's 6,000-meter course and the men's 8,000-meter circuit loop through the western part of campus, encircling Bobby Jones Field, Quarry Pond, and Musselman Stadium.

In the men's race last season, the Georgetown Running Company finished first in the team standings, while Salisbury University was the top collegiate team. On the women's side, Division I University of Maryland captured the team title. Individually, Jaryd Flank of Muhlenberg College won the men's race in 25:29 while Alexandra Lucki of Maryland captured the women's event in 21:50. Gettysburg's
Ben Taber (Durham, Conn./Coginchaug Regional) and
Elizabeth Hilfrank (Norfolk, Va./King Philip Regional) are the top returning collegiate finishers from last year's meet after placing sixth and 14th, respectively, last season.
