The first three-time All-American in program history, Paul Schofield helped solidify the men’s lacrosse team as one of the premier programs in the nation.

Schofield was a four-year starter in the midfield. Despite playing a rigorous schedule that included some of the top programs in the nation, the Bullets tied the school record with a dozen wins in three of Schofield’s years on the team. As a freshman, he helped the squad claim the Middle Atlantic Conference title and appear in the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history. He emerged as one of the top midfielders in the country as a sophomore, earning All-America Honorable Mention and All-MAC First Team after scoring a point in every game and finishing with a career-high 31 goals.

The Bullets won the MAC title and competed in the NCAA Tournament in each of Schofield’s final two seasons. He was named All-America Second Team twice, including the 1992 campaign when he scored a career-high 39 points.

A native of Martinsville, N.J., Schofield graduated from Gettysburg with a degree in sociology.
