Becky Griffith was the ultimate playmaker for one of Gettysburg’s most successful athletic programs.
The first 100-point scorer in the long history of the field hockey program, Griffith was a four-time All-Centennial Conference selection, earning first-team accolades in each of her final three campaigns. After earning all-conference recognition in her first two seasons, Griffith led the conference with a career-high 37 points, including a school-record 15 assists in 1996. She was named All-CC First Team and received her first national award as second-team All-American.
Griffith picked up first-team all-conference and first-team All-America nods during her senior campaign, becoming just the second first-team All-American in program history. She also helped Gettysburg claim the conference crown for the second time during her tenure.
Griffith closed her career as the school’s all-time leader in both assists (26) and points (106). Among her 40 career goals, 18 were of the game-winning variety.
A native of Camp Hill, Pa., Griffith graduated from Gettysburg with a degree in health and exercise sciences.
