As a 6'6", 200 pounder, he became one of the most versatile and talented basketball players Gettysburg has known. He scored a career 1,712 points which ranks number two on Gettysburg's all-time list. He scored 732 field goals in 1,331 chances for a blistering 55 percent accuracy - one of the best in the school's history. He was just as accurate a foul shooter, hitting 69 percent of his 362 attempts. He landed a life-time scoring average of 17.3 points per each of 99 games played. On top of all that, he registered a career 807 rebounds and was the team's leader in assists for four years.
As a freshman he was named to the all-ECAC post-season tournament, which included Division II schools. As a junior, he received honorable mention All-America by the Associated Press and was ranked 44th in the country in scoring. In 1981, he was named to the ECAC All-South team and selected to the National Association of Basketball Coaches All-District Division III team.
