CARLISLE, Pa. – The Gettysburg College women's tennis team suffered its first shutout loss of the season on Tuesday, falling to host Dickinson College 9-0. The setback dropped the Bullets to 7-6 overall and 3-4 in the Centennial Conference this spring.

Dickinson (8-7, 3-4 CC) opened with 8-2 and 8-5 decisions at second and third doubles, respectively before a battle at the top position. Seeing their first action of the season at No. 1 doubles, junior Kelly Eurich (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown) and freshman Candice Kashani (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) took Joelle Nitzberg and Sarah Woodward to a tiebreaker before succumbing 9-8 (7-5).

The Red Devils swept singles play in straight-sets with Kashani and fellow first-year Kylle O'Sullivan (Worcester, Mass./Worcester Academy) putting up the stiffest fights, the former dropping a 6-3, 6-4 loss at No. 2 and the latter falling 6-4, 6-3 at No. 5.

Gettysburg hosts Ursinus College on Saturday, April 18, at 1 p.m.
