ANNVILLE, Pa. – Senior
Vanessa Pabon won the long jump and the triple jump to lead the Gettysburg College track & field teams at the Lebanon Valley College Invitational Friday afternoon.
The meet marked the first outdoor event of the season for Gettysburg, which finished third among four teams on both sides.
Pabon jumped 15-9 1/2 in the long and 35- 1/4 in the triple. Also winning for the women's team was freshman
Laura Olson, who cleared 4-11 3/4 in the high jump, and junior
Megan Murphy, who was clocked at 1:01.85 in the 400-meter dash.
Placing second for the women were freshman
Yaa Addison in the 1,500-meter run (5:17.31) and sophomore
Amanda Pellowe the 5,000-meter run (21:17.37). Pellowe also took third in the 1,500 (5:31.11), as did freshman
Amanda Koslo in the 200-meter dash (28.76) and the 400-meter dash (1:02.71).
The men's team received wins from freshmen
Joe Sharp in the 800 (2:04.01) and
Tom Senseney in the 400-meter dash (52.70) while junior
Thomas Daniels added a second-place finish in the 5,000-meter run (17:05.65).
Gettysburg returns to action on Wednesday, when they compete in a quad meet at York (Pa.) College.
