Freshman Lydia MacKenzie (Bedford, N.H./Derry School) had a hand in each of the Bullets' points, including a straight-set win at fifth singles.

Gettysburg (5-2, 0-1 CC) suffered its first spring loss this season, but the freshmen class put up a stiff fight against Swarthmore (3-2, 1-0 CC), rated 13th in the latest Atlantic South rankings. MacKenzie teamed with first-year Kelsey Boyce (Arrowsic, Maine/Morse) for Gettysburg's first point of the day at third doubles as the duo beat Dina Zingaro and Kelsey Johnson 8-6.

In singles play, the Garnet cruised to straight-set wins at each of the top three positions before being tested in the bottom three flights. Freshman Laura Habecker (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Country Day School) and Boyce each dropped their opening sets 6-3 at fourth and sixth singles, respectively, before battling back to force third frames. Habecker took the second 7-5 before falling 10-5 to Alexis Hickman, and Boyce won the second 6-3 before also falling to 10-5 to Taylor Tucker.

MacKenzie kept her singles record perfect (5-0) on the year with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Luann Cignavitch at No. 5.
