GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The finishing touches were added to the Gettysburg College women's lacrosse team's 2011 NCAA Division III national championship on Saturday.
Between the men's and women's basketball games in Bream Gymnasium, each member of the team, along with coaches and administrators, received their championship rings commemorating their title. They were greeted one-by-one at center court by College President
Dr. Janet Morgan Riggs '77, Athletic Director
David Wright, and Associate Athletic Director and chair of the 2012 NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Championship Committee
Susan Fumagalli.
After the ring ceremony, the team's championship banner was unveiled on the south wall of the gym, joining Gettysburg's only other national title banner won by the 1980 field hockey team.
Under the direction of Head Coach
