THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg had four of the top six runners across the line to finish first at the annual Little 3 Meet hosted by Dickinson. The Bullets recorded 23 points to outdistance Dickinson by 14 points. Franklin & Marshall finished in a distance third with 75 points.
THE LEADERS
•
Kathryn Hopkins (Taneytown, Md./Winters Mill) won a race for the second straight meet to open 2024, claiming the 5,000-meter individual championship with a time of 18:54.9. She was the first non-Red Devil to win the individual title since Amanda Asaro in 2015.
FOR THE FOES
• The Red Devils recorded 37 points in the second-place finish.
THE REST OF THE STORY

Gabrielle Thiry (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Country Day School) crossed the line nearly five seconds behind her teammate to finish second with a time of 18:59.3 in her first collegiate action.
•
Elyse Tancini (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) was fourth overall with a time of 19:11.2.
•
Rowe Crawford (Swarthmore, Pa./Strath Haven) finished sixth with a time of 19:22.1.
•
Carys Cook (Wimberley, Texas/Lauralton Hall) was 10th overall in the field with a time of 19:44.
•
Ava Crawford (Swarthmore, Pa./Strath Haven) was 11th (19:45.8) while
Sarah Smith (West Chester, Pa./Unionville) was 16th (20:12.2).

Abbey Woodcome (17th, 20:18.7),
Emily Trout (19th, 20:41),
Franny Proto (21st, 20:56.3),
Kyla Lorden (22nd, 20:58.7),
Jessica Bourne (23rd, 21:08.5),
Megan McArthur (27th, 21:20.7),
Grace Lisnock (28th, 21:31.6), and
Julia Brock (29th, 21:33.5) rounded out the Bullets competitors.
THE INSIDE STORY
• A total of 39 runners competed at the 5,000-meter distance.
• The title for Gettysburg snapped a run of 27-straight titles by Dickinson in the annual three-team championship. The Bullets and Franklin & Marshall tied for the team title in 1995. The last time Gettysburg won the outright title was in 1992 in Lancaster.

Kathryn Hopkins,
Gabrielle Thiry and Elise Tancini posted the third-, fourth-, and fifth-fastest times on the Dickinson Park course for the Bullets.
Rowe Crawford (eighth) and
Carys Cook (10th) also now rank in the all-time top-10 on the course.
