GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Two members of the Gettysburg women's basketball team have been named to the D3hoops.com All-Region 5 team, released on Tuesday.
Alayna Arnolie (Vienna, Va./James Madison) and
Shinya Lee (Rochester, N.Y./Holderness Prep School) both claimed second-team honors while 10th-season head coach
Nate Davis was named the Region 5 Coach of the Year.
Arnolie, a junior guard, earns her second straight D3hoops.com all-region nod. A first-team All-Centennial Conference (CC) nod, she started all 28 games she played. She led the team in scoring at 15.3 points per game. She also had a team-high 49 3-pointers and team-best 73 steals. She also dished out 64 assists. She shot 39.2 percent from the floor and added 3.4 rebounds per game. She scored in double figures 24 times this season and 20 or more times in four games.
Lee, a senior forward, was a first-team All-CC player and was the first Bullet to earn the league's Defensive Player of the Year honor. Starting all 31 games, she led the conference with a single-season program-record 91 blocked shots. She was also second on the team with 41 steals. Lee nearly averaged a double-double at 10.3 points per game and 9.9 rebounds per game. She also had 25 assists and shot 52.5 percent from the floor. She had nine double-doubles this season.
Davis earned regional coach of the year honors for the first time after guiding the team to a fourth straight CC title – the first time that feat has been accomplished in program history. The Bullets (28-3, 14-1 CC) set a program record for wins in a season with 28 and advanced to the national quarterfinals for the first time in program history.
