Cavanaugh made a dramatic improvement in a last-chance meet to qualify for the NCAA Division III Championships. At the Columbia Final Qualifying Meet at the Armory in New York City, she sliced 0.19 seconds from her own school record, placing third among six competitors. Her time of 8.95 seconds vaulted her from 35th to 14th on the Division III performance list, and she made the cut by 0.02 seconds. Cavanaugh will enter the national meet seeded 14th among 15 athletes.
