In her collegiate debut, Asaro earned the victory in the Bullets' season-opening home loss to 31st-ranked Elizabethtown College. She was timed at 10:47 for the 3,000-meter course and won by nine seconds over the Blue Jays' Traci Tempone, who qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships last season. The two teams tied 28-28 but E-town was granted the win by virtue of a tiebreaker.
