Kodie McNamara '16 polished off an outstanding football career at Gettysburg. He saved his best season for last, earning All-Centennial Conference First Team accolades at inside linebacker after leading the conference with 107 tackles. McNamara racked up 20 of those stops against Ursinus, marking the most by a Bullet in 11 years. A four-year starter who never missed a game on the field, he finished second in program history with 396 career tackles.
McNamara's off-field exploits earned him notoriety as well. A mathematics major, he was the fifth Gettysburg football player to earn Academic All-America accolades as a second-team selection. McNamara was also a semifinalist for the Gagliardi Trophy, which recognizes excellence in athletics, academics, and community service. Finally, he was named the recipient of the Charles W. Beachem Athletic Award for excellence in athletics, scholarship, and character at Gettysburg College.
