Senior Laura Bergin put in a huge week on the volleyball court on the way to becoming the 12th Bullet to reach 1,000 career kills. She opened with a match-high 15 kills and 12 digs in a 3-2 win over Shenandoah on Oct. 5. Bergin didn't waste any time reaching her career milestone, hitting No. 1,000 in the opening set of a 3-0 win against Wilkes and finishing with a match-high 16 kills on Oct. 7. In her final outing, she tied a personal high with 26 kills and added a season-high 16 digs as the Bullets knocked off previously unbeaten Alfred State 3-2. Bergin was the first Gettysburg player to reach 1,000 career kills in nine seasons.
