Junior Nick Cox swept the backstroke races in record-breaking fashion at the Centennial Conference Swimming Championships on Feb. 17-20. Cox became the first Bullet to break 50 seconds in the prelims of the 100 back, posting a program record 49.49 to earn the top seed. In the finals, the junior broke 50 again on the way to winning the gold in 49.52. During Sunday's final session, Cox completed the backstroke sweep by cutting through the water in 1:48.62 and becoming the first Gettysburg swimmer to go below 1:50.00. Cox became the first Bullet to sweep both backstroke races at the conference meet in 27 years.
