Sophomore Luke Kowalski closed out his debut collegiate wrestling season by competing at the NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships at the Alliant Energy Powerhouse in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Kowalski erased a 4-0 deficit and produced a second-period pin against eighth-ranked Tyler Fleetwood from University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in his opening match at 133 pounds. He fell in his second match the eventual national champion and dropped a major decision to another All-American in the consolation bracket. Kowalski closed the year sporting a 31-9 record with 12 pins and eight major decisions. The Centennial Conference Rookie of the Year, seven of his losses came against All-American wrestlers.
