Whitmoyer made the most of his first collegiate start at quarterback, rushing for 130 yards and three touchdowns in Gettysburg's 42-28 season-opening victory at Lebanon Valley. He opened the game's scoring with a 77-yard touchdown run and added a 25-yard scoring dash to put the Bullets up 21-0 in the first quarter. He also threw for 114 yards on 11-of-16 passing.
