YORK, PA. --- Chris Pryor and Adam Outerbridge each scored a pair of goals as the Bullets beat York College, 4-2, in non-conference action of Wednesday. With the win, Gettysburg's record improves to 8-1-2 overall.
York scored the first goal of the game, with Justin Januszkiewicz putting one in the net only 1:42 into the match. Gettysburg retaliated in the 19th minute with a goal from Outerbridge, and again in the 24th minute off a score by Pryor to end the first half ahead 2-1. Jeremy Shapiro and James Miller both collected first half assists for the Bullets.
With the onset of the second half, Pryor struck again off an assist by Liam McDevitt, and pushed the Gettysburg lead to 3-1. York scorer Matt Shealer brought the Spartans back within one, but Outerbridge's second goal of the day, coming off an assist by Jason Vishio, closed out the scoring.
Gettysburg goalkeeper Nick LaPorta posted seven saves on the day as the Bullets outshot York, 20-13.
Gettysburg, currently ranked fourth in the Mid-Atlantic region, return to action on Saturday, October 9, against Christopher Newport in the first round of the N.C.-Wesleyan Tournament. Game time is 11 a.m.
