ROCKY MOUNT, NC. --- Chris Pryor scored his 46th career goal to break the Gettysburg scoring record and lead the Bullets to a 2-1 victory over Christopher Newport in the first day of the N.C. Wesleyan Tournament. With the win Gettysburg's record improves to 9-1-2 overall.
It only took 1:45 of play before Pryor sank his record breaking goal off an assist by Adam Outerbridge. The score breaks the previous record for career goals held by Greg Stevcic (45 goals, 1994-97).
Gettysburg picked up their second and last score of the match when Outerbridge sank one of his own off an assist by Wes Thurmond only 5:15 into the game.
The score would remain lock at 2-0 into the 78th minute of play when Christopher Newport's Shadi Abi-Saab put one in the net, ending the scoring at 2-1
Gettysburg, currently ranked fourth in the Mid-Atlantic region, returns to action on Sunday, October 10, against N.C. Wesleyan in the second round of the N.C.-Wesleyan Tournament. Game time is 2 p.m.
