FROSTBURG, MD. --- Kelsey Williams led five players in double figures with 21 points as Gettysburg defeated host Frostburg State, 84-78, in the championship game of the McDonald's Tip-Off Tournament on Saturday. With the win, the Bullets improved to 2-0.
Jamie Dawson posted a double-double with 15 points and a team-high 11 rebounds for Gettysburg while Mandy Wilson also accomplished the feat with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Carrie Kulp, who scored 14 points in the win, was named to the all-tournament team along with Dawson and Megan McDonald.
Williams shot 8-for-12 from the field on the game and 4-for-4 from the free throw line in the winning effort. Also scoring in double figures for Gettysburg was Steph Drevna, who finished the night with 10 points.
Gettysburg trailed 42-38 at halftime, but shot 17-for-33 (51.5 percent) from the floor in the second half en route to the victory.
The Bullets opens its Centennial Conference schedule on Tuesday, November 23 at home against Haverford College. Game time is 6 p.m.
