GETTYSBURG MEN OUTGUNNED BY DIVISION I LAFAYETTE, 82-52

EASTON, PA. --- Brian Ehlers led three players in double figures with 13 points and Lafayette held Gettysburg to five first-half field goals en route to a 82-52 victory in non-conference action on Tuesday.

John Schnebly scored the first nine points of his collegiate career to lead Gettysburg, which fell to 4-4 on the season.  Curtis McNeil added seven points in the losing effort while Mike Monroe added six for the Bullets.

Brian Burke and Tim Bieg tossed in 11 points apiece for the Leopards, which improved to 5-2.  The win was Lafayette's 16th straight over Gettysburg in the teams' first meeting since the 1976-77 season.

Gettysburg took its only lead of the evening at 3-2 on a three-pointer by McNeil with 18:29 left in the first half.

After a 11-0 run gave the Leopards a 13-3 advantage, the Bullets answered with a 11-4 streak of their own to pull within 17-14 with 5:21 left before halftime.  Richie Pfeil scored four of his five points during the run and Bill Davidson capped it with a layup.

Lafayette answered, however, with a pair of three-pointers from Bieg on consecutive possessions and Rob Worthington converted two free throws to push the Leopard lead to 25-14 with 3:51 left in the half.

A four-point play by Mike Homer keyed a 12-2 Lafayette run that gave the home squad a 37-16 lead at halftime.

Jim Natale led Gettysburg with a career-high five rebounds.  In addition to Schnebly, the trio of Antoine Gaither, Ryan Horan and Brad Billmeier also recorded their first collegiate points on the evening.

Gettysburg returns to action on Tuesday, December 28 against Division I Navy in Annapolis.  Game time is 7:30 p.m.
