WESTMINSTER, MD. --- Jason Vishio scored a pair of goals and Jesse Flynn added two assists to lead Gettysburg over Western Maryland, 3-0, in Centennial Conference action on Wednesday. With the win, the Bullets improved to 6-1-2 overall and 2-0-1 in conference play.
Chris Pryor also scored a goal to help the Bullets increase their unbeaten streak to seven games. Goalie Nick LaPorta recorded four saves to post his third consecutive shutout and fifth of this season.
Vishio, a former All-American, gave the Bullets a 1-0 lead in the sixth minute, finding the back of the net off a pass from Flynn. Two minutes later, Pryor made it 2-0 Gettysburg with his team-leading seventh goal of the season, also set up by Flynn.
Vishio, who entered the game with a team-best six assists but only one goal in 1999, capped the scoring with an assist from Jeremy Shapiro in the 25th minute.
Western Maryland (4-2, 1-1) outshot the Bullets after the intermission, but couldn't find the back of the net. Gettysburg held a 12-5 advantage in shots for the game.
The Bullets return to action on Saturday, October 2 at Haverford College. Game time is 2 p.m.
