GRANTHAM, PA --- Messiah (3-0) scored twice over an 11-minute stretch in the first half en route to a 3-1 win over Gettysburg in non-league action on Wednesday. With the loss, the Bullets fell to 0-3.
Gettysburg's Ashley Froman (Glen Arm, MD/Loch Raven) netted her first goal of the season to pull the Bullets within 2-1 late in the first half.
Rebekah Armel answered with a goal in the 62nd minute to restore Messiah's two-goal advantage. Dani Warden then stopped a Gettysburg penalty shot to preserve her team's 3-1 lead.
The Bullets return to action on Friday, September 10 at home against Skidmore College in the opening round of the Gettysburg Tournament. Game time is 2 p.m. Gettysburg battles regional rival Richard Stockton College in the second round of the tournament on Saturday at 3 p.m.
