MUHLENBERG HANDS GETTYSBURG WOMEN THIRD STRAIGHT LOSS, 68-63 IN DOUBLE OVERTIME

ALLENTOWN, Pa. --- Jessica Drennan led four players in double figures with 15 points to help Muhlenberg post a 68-63 double overtime victory over Gettysburg in Centennial Conference action on Wednesday.

Lindsay St. Lawrence and Jenn Risley added 13 for the Mules (6-5, 1-1 CC East) while Amanda Spengler chipped in with 12, including the go-ahead three-pointer in the second overtime.

Carrie Kulp scored a career-high 22 points for the Bullets, who lost their third straight game to fall to 8-4 (3-2 CC West).  Jamie Dawson added eight points on 8-for-8 free-throw shooting and also hauled in a team-high eight rebounds for Gettysburg.  Point guard Mandy Wilson recorded a career-best seven steals and added seven points while playing a team-high 48 minutes.

Gettysburg pulled within 64-63 when Kulp drilled a deep three-pointer and made one of two free throw.  St. Lawrence and Spengler nailed down the victory for Muhlenberg sandwiching two free throws apiece around an empty Gettysburg possession to set the final score at 68-63.

After losing an six-point second-half lead, Gettysburg needed late heroics just to force the overtime.

Trailing 47-44 with 10 seconds left in regulation, the Bullets forced overtime when Kelsey Williams drilled a three-pointer with two second remaining.

The teams each posted four points in a defensive first overtime period that ended with a 51-51 deadlock.

Despite trailing 16-2 after the game's first six minutes, Gettysburg took a 28-24 lead into the locker room thanks to the hot hand of Kulp.  The Bullet senior scored 13 points during the Bullets' 26-8 run that comprised the half's final 14 minutes, including 11 straight points that turned a 16-13 Gettysburg deficit into a 24-20 lead with 2:24 left in the half.

Katie Havens, one of the four Bullets making her first collegiate start, scored five of her seven points during the first-half run, including a breakaway put-back and her first collegiate three-pointer.
