NATALES LAST-SECOND THREE LIFTS BULLETS OVER DICKINSON 83-82 IN OVERTIME; DAVIDSON SCORES 30 IN WIN

GETTYSBURG, Pa. --- Jim Natale (Washington Crossing, PA/Council Rock) drilled a 3-pointer with four seconds left in overtime to give Gettysburg its only lead of the game in a dramatic 83-82 win over Dickinson in Centennial Conference (CC) action on Wednesday.

The Bullets (10-7, 3-3 CC) sent the game into overtime when Curtis McNeil (Alexandria, VA/St. Stephen's & St. Agnes) drained a 25-foot desperation 3-pointer as time expired.  The loss was the third straight for Dickinson, which fell to 7-9 (3-3 CC).

Bill Davidson (Lebanon, PA/Annville-Cleona) scored 26 of his game-high 30 points after halftime to record his second consecutive 30-point game.  The senior poured in a career-high 31 points against Frostburg St. on Saturday, becoming the first Bullet to score 30 points in a game since Phil Tonkins netted 32 on November 18, 1995.

The win also drew the Bullets even with Dickinson in the Centennial's wide-open West Division playoff race.  Divisional co-leaders Franklin & Marshall and Johns Hopkins (both 3-2 in the CC) square off in Baltimore on Thursday with the loser joining the Bullets and Red Devils in a three-way deadlock for second place.

Matt Shaffer tied a season high with 23 points for Dickinson, which shot 53.6 percent (30-for-56) from the floor on the evening.  Demetri Tyler added 11 points and a game-high nine rebounds for the Red Devils, but missed a pair of free throws with five seconds left in regulation that would have iced the win.

Following a Davidson layup that cut the Dickinson lead to 65-58 with 2:31 remaining, Gettysburg put the Red Devils on the free-throw line at every opportunity in an attempt to close the gap.

Dickinson, however, converted 11 of 14 charity tosses over the next 2 minutes and 17 seconds and held a 76-70 with 14 seconds left.

Bullet forward Greg Schreiber, who finished with 12 points and six rebounds in only 18 minutes due to foul trouble, kept his team in the game by banking home a 3-pointer with seven seconds left.   Two seconds later, Tyler was fouled, but missed both free throws to give Gettysburg a final chance.

With time running out in regulation, Terence Callahan dribbled up the court and found McNeil to the right of the lane and deep behind the 3-point line.  McNeil, who finished with six points, launched a high-arching shot that swished through to knot the game at 76 and force overtime.

Dickinson's Tony Beers scored the first basket of overtime to help the Red Devils build an 81-77 lead with 2:09 to go.  Gettysburg converted three free throws to pull within 81-80 with 14 seconds left in the overtime.

Wade Curry, the conference's leading free-throw shooter (93.8 percent), hit one of two free throws to push the Dickinson lead to 82-80 and set up Natale's heroics.

Natale finished the game with a career-high 10 points and added four rebounds.  Callahan scored seven points and dished out a game-high six assists to go with five rebounds.  Zach Leverenz and Ryan Weidler scored 10 points apiece for Dickinson.

Gettysburg returns to action on Saturday, January 29 at Swarthmore College.  Game time is 8 p.m.
