BULLETS USE SECOND-HALF RALLY TO DOWN DICKINSON, 78-64

GETTYSBURG, Pa. --- Carrie Kulp and Kelsey Williams both posted 17 points to lead five Bullets in double figures and propel the Gettysburg squad over Dickinson 78-64 in Centennial Conference action on Wednesday.  With the victory, the Bullets' record improves to 10-5 overall and 5-3 in conference play.

The Bullets trailed 31-29 at the end of the first half, but outscored the Red Devils 49-33 in the second half to pull out the win.

Kulp also pulled down a season-best 11 rebounds for her second double-double of the season, while Jamie Dawson added 14 points and a career-high, game-leading 16 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the 1999-2000 campaign.  Mandy Wilson also scored in the double figures for the Bullets with a season-high 14 points, while Steph Drevna added another 10 points.

Despite a slow start that left both scores in single digits for the first six minutes, Dickinson managed to garner a game-opening eight-point lead of a 10-2 run, seeing their first two baskets off of coast-to-coast steals by Sweeta Hutchinson and Kim Selemba.

The Red Devil run ended after Drevna fouled Kristi Pugh.  Pugh sank her two from the charity stripe, and then fouled Drevna the next time down the court.  Drevna sank the tail end of her two, but the Bullets would remain sluggish as Dickinson rallied for another eight points, pushing the score to 21-9 at the 10:12 mark

With time running out in the first, the Bullets renewed their offensive efforts and made a late half run to pull within two of the Red Devils.  Following a basket by Pugh, Kulp buried four foul shots and a bucket to start the Gettysburg comeback, which found the Bullets outscoring their opposition 20-10.

While Kulp pushed the Bullets to the bucket, Wilson and Williams pushed for Dickinson turnovers and grabbed seven combines first-half steals.  Wilson led Gettysburg with five steals on the day, while Williams grabbed a career-best four steals.  Jay Hodge tied her career-best four steals.

It would take the Bullets seven minutes in the second half to gain the lead, as the Red Devils fought back with buckets from Hutchinson, Selemba and Kristin Brady.  Selemba would finish the contest with a game-high 19 points.

The Bullets, who shot 33 percent from the field, would end the game with a 15-seven run.  Gettysburg held a 53-42 advantage in rebounds and a 28-35 advantage in turnovers.

The Bullets return to action on Saturday, January 29 when they travel to Centennial Conference foe Swarthmore College.  Game time is 6 p.m.
