GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Katie Langmore (Boxboro, MA/Acton-Boxboro) knocked in her team-best sixth goal of the season to lead Gettysburg past Haverford 1-0 in Centennial Conference (CC) women's soccer action on Thursday.
Langmore's sliding put-back off her own rebound in the 26th minute helped the Bullets (8-4-2, 5-1-2 CC) snap a three-game winless streak and stay alive in the hunt for the CC championship. The goal was Gettysburg's first in nearly 332 minutes, dating back to Langmore's game-winner against Dickinson on October 4.
Carine Doyle (Exton, PA/Bishop Shanahan) made eight saves in the Gettysburg net to post her second consecutive shutout. Doyle made three saves in the Bullets' 0-0 draw with Ursinus on Saturday.
Nicole DeSantis (Westfield, NJ/Westfield) fired a team-best three of Gettysburg's 10 shots on the afternoon. Haverford (6-9-1, 4-2-1 CC) also recorded 10 shots for the game and held a 5-4 edge in corner kicks. Ford goalie Jen Troubridge finished with five saves.
With her sixth goal of the season, Langmore jumped into a tie for the Bullets' scoring lead with Emily McAuliffe (Lowville, NY/Lowville Academy) and Rachael Rzemieniewski (Neshanic, NJ/Immaculata). All three have notched 12 points this season.
