MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. --- Jen Nolan (Germantown, MD/Seneca Valley) went 5-for-6 with a double, two triple and a career-high seven RBI as Gettysburg set a single-game scoring record in a 34-0 win over Centenary (N.J.) at the Snowbird Softball Tournament on Wednesday.
Kelsey Williams went 5-for-5 with four RBI and Jenna Pabst (Boonton Twp., NJ/Mountain Lakes) rapped an inside-the-park home run as the Bullets (3-0) eclipsed their previous mark of 33 runs in a single game, set in a 33-0 victory over Washington (Md.) on March 26, 1987. Melissa Hazzard worked all five innings, allowing only one hit while fanning seven to pick up the victory.
Gettysburg put the game away in the first inning, scoring 13 runs before Centenary came to the plate. The Bullets added eight more in the second inning and built a 27-0 lead in the third frame.
Karyn Miller added a double in the win while Mandy Wilson chipped in with a triple. Nolan's seven-RBI outburst on Wednesday gave her one more RBI than her total from all of last season (6).
Gettysburg wraps up its spring break action with a doubleheader against Alvernia College on Thursday, March 16. The first game starts at 10 a.m.
