WESTMINSTER, Md. --- Melissa Hazzard pitched all 14 innings for Gettysburg, including an eight-hit shutout in game two as the Bullets split a doubleheader with Western Maryland in their Centennial Conference (CC) softball finale on Saturday.

     In game one, the Green Terror plated the only run of the game in the seventh inning for a 1-0 decision.  Gettysburg answered with a 2-0 victory in the second game keyed by RBI from Mandy Wilson and Stef Mastropaolo.

     Hazzard allowed six hits in the opener while striking out five against no walks in the hard-luck loss.  Western Maryland's Amanda Donaldson tossed a five-hit shutout and picked up the victory when Katie Swierkos doubled home Christa Farrar with the only run of the game with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning.

     In game two, Hazzard outdueled Leah Clelland to notch her fifth win of the season, striking out four more while scattering eight hits.

     Gettysburg jumped on top in the first inning when Jen White singled and came around to score on a sacrifice fly from Wilson.  The Bullets added an insurance run in the fourth when Karyn Miller cracked the first of her two doubles and scored on a two-out single by Mastropaolo.

     Hazzard worked out of a bases-loaded jam in the fifth inning to maintain the shutout and closed out the gem by fanning Candi Kuligowski on a called third strike.

     Jenna Pabst collected two of Gettysburg's five hits in the opener.  The Bullets wrapped up their regular season with a 20-5 overall record and an 11-5 mark in the Centennial Conference.
