ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – Three different Bullets tallied two goals apiece as Gettysburg downed St. Mary's College of Maryland 7-1 in non-conference women's soccer action on Sunday.  With the win, the Bullets begin their season 1-0 overall.

     Senior Jill Piekarski scored a pair of netters while freshmen Lauren Melillo and Katie Langmore both tallied a pair of goals in their first ever collegiate appearance.

     St. Mary's would strike the net first, tallying their only goal just 3:48 into the contest when Mandy Bishop flicked in a cross.  The Seahawks would hold their lead until the 21:26 mark when Melillo netted the equalizer and began the Bullet scoring spree.  Five minutes later Langmore would score what was her first collegiate goal, and gamewinner, to end the first half scoring 2-1 in Gettysburg's favor.

    With the onset on the second half, the Bullets reasserted their dominance, seeing another goal from both Melillo and Langmore before Piekarski added back to back netters.  Sophomore Julie Girman closed out the day with the seventh and final goal in the final minute of play.

     Gettysburg returns to action on Wednesday, September 6 at home against regional opponent Messiah College.  Game time is 4 p.m.
