Following a quick Gettysburg timeout, F&M drove down the court but was forced into a timeout of its own after Erika Linnander collected her own rebound off a missed shot.
With the clock ticking down, the Diplomats looked to the game's leading scorer Amy Kreitz to secure another home team lead, but Kreitz met with Dallas in the paint where the Bullet notched her sixth block and kept Gettysburg's lead intact. Kreitz finished the night with 26 points and 11 rebounds.
During the ensuing skirmish for the loose ball Bullet guard Keriann Van Nostrand (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan Reg.) came up with both the ball and a trip to the charity stripe for a one-and-one. She sank both free throws and extended Gettysburg's lead to 71-68 with 16 seconds left.
The Bullets pressured the Diplomats into a quick turnover in the backcourt before F&M forward Kate Dempsey fouled Hewes to stop the clock.
Hewes took advantage of the honors and sank both free throws to extend the Bullet lead to 73-68 with 13 seconds remaining.
On the next F&M inbound Gettysburg gave the Diplomats the easy lay-up, and then called a timeout with 4 seconds left.
The Bullets used the ensuing inbound to run down the clock and secure the win.
