ST. DAVIDS, Pa. – Freshman David Pone (Bordentown, NJ/Bordentown) scored a pair of first-half goals to lift Gettysburg over Eastern 2-0 in non-conference men’s soccer action on Wednesday.

 Pone opened the scoring with his second goal of the season off an assist from James Bealer (Darien, CT/Darien) in the 13th minute.  Alex Ochman (Easton, CT/Joel Barlow) set up Pone’s second goal of the game at 23:35.

 Junior goalie Steve Kopp (Upper Montclair, NJ/Montclair) made five saves to post his fourth shutout of the season.

 The Bullets (10-3) outshot the Eagles 15-8 on the afternoon and held a 12-3 advantage in corner kicks.  The win was Gettysburg’s fourth straight and also insured the program of its 11th consecutive season with at least 10 victories.

 The Bullets return to action on Saturday at home against Ursinus.  Game time is 12 p.m.
