Bullets Line up Western Maryland with 4-2 win

GETTYSBURG, Pa. - Jenny Line (Carlisle, PA/Carlisle) scored a pair goals and added an assist to lead Gettysburg over Western Maryland 4-2 in Centennial Conference (CC) on Wednesday.

Line scored the eventual game-winning goal off an Ashley Froman (Glen Arm, MD/Loch Raven) assist in the 26th minute.

Line added an insurance goal on a two-on-one break in the 58th minute. It was the freshman's second straight two-goal performance, and she leads the team with six goals on the year.

Line also set up Liz Wesolowski (White Plains, NY/Ursuline) for the first goal of the game in the ninth minute.

Liz Feldhusen (Acton, MA/Acton-Boxboro) netted her first collegiate goal off a two-on-one break into the left netting in the 22nd minute of the game.

The Green Terror were outshot 13-1 in the first half. However in the second half, Melissa Merson scored on a two-on-one break into the left netting in the 49th minute. Merson then assisted Kimberly Lowry in the 56th minute to close the deficit to 3-2.

The Bullets outshot the Green Terror 25-8 in the game. Gettysburg goalkeeper Carine Doyle (Exton, PA/Bishop Shanahan) had five saves, while Western Maryland netminder Candi Kuligowski had a game-high 14 stops.

The Bullets improves to 7-4 on the season and 4-0 in CC action, while the Green Terror fall to 4-8 overall and 2-3 in the conference.

Gettysburg returns to action on Saturday when they host conference foe Washington (Md.). Start time is 2 p.m.
