Gettysburg stifles Frostburg State for first victory, 73-38

ARLINGTON, Va. - Jay Hodge (Silver Spring, MD/St. Vincent Pallotti) recorded a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds to lead Gettysburg to its first victory of the season 73-38 over Frostburg State in the second round of the Marymount Women's Basketball Tip-Off Classic on Saturday.

Freshman Emily Falk (Boiling Springs, PA/Boiling Springs) and Steph Drevna (Lancaster, PA/Lancaster Catholic) also scored 14 points in the Bullets victory.

Gettysburg will face the winner of the Elizabethtown-North Carolina Wesleyan game on Sunday at 11 a.m.

Leading 31-25 at halftime, the Bullets outscored the Bobcats 42-13 in the second half. Gettysburg held Frostburg State to 2-for-18 from the field in the second half and 8-for-42 (19.0 percent) for the game.

Gettysburg went 4-for-7 behind the three-point line, including two from Falk, who also scored a team-high 14 points in an opening-round loss to Salisbury on Friday. Drevna and Dana Bear (Lansdale, PA/Lansdale Catholic) also drained a 3-pointer for the Bullets.

Kesha Frisby led the Bobcats with 10 points, while hitting 6-for-10 from foul line. Kim Faust recorded a team-high seven rebounds.

Gettysburg improved to 1-1 on the year, while Frostburg State fell to 0-2.
