Hodge, Drevna lead Gettysburg to fourth-place finish at Marymount; Bullets defeat Elizabethtown, 83-65

ARLINGTON, Va. - Jay Hodge (Silver Spring, MD/St. Vincent Pallotti) recorded her second double-double, in as many games, with 17 points and 13 rebounds to lead Gettysburg past Elizabethtown 83-65 to give the Bullets a fourth-place finish at the Marymount Women's Basketball Tip-Off Classic on Sunday.

Hodge, a junior forward, averaged 11.3 points per game and 14 rebounds per game in the three-game tournament.

Steph Drevna (Lancaster, PA/Lancaster Catholic) also contributed 17 points in the Bullets victory. Drevna, senior guard, was perfect in the game from the free-throw line (3-for-3) and the 3-point line (4-for-4). The senior was Gettysburg's top scorer in the tournament, averaging 13 points in the three games.

Freshman Adrienne Lampe (Dumont, NJ/Dumont) had a career-high 17 points after shooting 8-for-10 from the field.

Dana Bear (Lansdale, PA/Lansdale Catholic) came off the bench to chip in 13 points in 17 minutes. The sophomore went 4-for-5 from the field, including 3-for-4 from the 3-point line.

Leading 35-26 at halftime after holding Elizabethtown to 8-for-28 (28.6 percent) shooting, the Bullets outscored the Blue Jays 48-39 in the second half. Gettysburg shot 56 percent for the game, while holding Elizabethtown to 42.3 percent.

The Bullets went 7-for-9 from 3-point land and 20-for-27 from the foul line. The Blue Jays, however, went 5-for-12 from the 3-point line and 16-for-32 from the charity stripe.

Cherrissa McCoy recorded a double-double for Elizabethtown with a game-high 18 points and 10 rebounds. Jessica Hollinshead added 16 points for the Blue Jays.

Gettysburg improved to 2-1 on the season, while Elizabethtown fell to 1-2 on the year.

The Bullets return to action on Tuesday when they start Centennial Conference action against Haverford. Tip-off is 6 p.m.
