BRYN MAWR, Pa. – Jessica Seedorf (Port Jefferson Station, NY/Ward Melville) scored a game-high four goals and added an assist while Megan Murphy (Wilton, CT/Wilton) netted two goals and two assists as Gettysburg defeated Bryn Mawr 14-5 in Centennial Conference (CC) women's lacrosse action on Thursday.
Casey Costello (Tiburon, CA/Santa Catalina School) posted two goals and added an assist while Liz Borucki (Medford, NJ/Shawnee) and Michele Centrella (Greenville, DE/Tatnall School) each collected three saves on the day.
The Bullets (10-3, 7-1 CC) opened the game with an unassisted goal by Kathryn Grassel (Dix Hills, NY/Half Hollow Hills, East) at the 29:37 mark followed by Seedorf's first goal of the game at 25:49, assisted by Costello to make it 2-0.
Bryn Mawr (1-14, 0-8 CC) netted a free position goal by Alyssa Bergey with 23:21 remaining in the first half, but Gettysburg answered 20 seconds later as Katie Merriken (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) scored on a pass from Murphy to make it 3-1.
The Bullets made it made it 4-1 on an unassisted goal by Costello at 21:20, but Bergey scored her second unassisted goal for the Mawrters at 19:45 to make it 4-2.
Gettysburg added five more goals, including a free position goal by Seedorf at 8:33 before Bryn Mawr found the net for the third time as Leah Freeman posted a goal with 7:10 remaining in the first half to make it 9-3.
The Mawrters were held scoreless the rest of the first half as the Bullets added goals by Jessica Segar (West Chester, PA/Villa Maria Academy), Candace Fisch (New Canaan, CT/Lawrenceville School) and Seedorf to make it 12-3 at halftime. Grassel collected an assist on Fisch's goal while Segar assisted Seedorf's goal with 52 seconds remaining in the first half.
Bryn Mawr scored the first and last goal in the second half as Kt Littlefield posted an unassisted goal at 24:54 and Jenny Yuh added an unassisted goal with 3:58 left in the game.
Gettysburg collected its two unassisted goals from Susie Mitchell (Medford, NJ/Shawnee) at 18:36 and Costello at 17:45.
Amy Farrell (Ambler, PA/Upper Dublin) also added a goal for the Bullets while Casey Bottomley (Springfield, PA/Springfield) tallied one save.
Gettysburg returns to action on Saturday, Apr. 21 at home against Randolph-Macon. Game time is 1 p.m.
