COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - Courtney Quinones went 3-for-7, including a three-run homerun and four RBI as Ursinus swept Gettysburg, 10-2, 3-2 in Centennial Conference (CC) softball action on Saturday.
Stef Mastropaolo (Rutherford, NJ/Rutherford) had three hits, including a double in game two, as the Bullets fell to 20-7 overall and 11-3 in CC play.
In game one Ursinus (23-9, 11-3 CC) used a pair of five-run innings to subdue the Bullet defense, while pitcher Denise Bozenski diluted the Gettysburg offense by scattering six hits and striking out three for the complete-game victory.
Adrienne Simmons (Douglassville, PA/Daniel Boone), Emily Boardman (Rome, PA/Northeast Bradford), Courtney Todd (Eagle, ID/Centennial) and Sarah Stokes (Towson, MD/Towson) all collected a hit for the Bullets.
In game two Gettysburg took the early 2-1 lead following a single in the third inning by Mandy Wilson (McClure, PA/Indian Valley) that drove home Kristi Patterson (Margate, NJ/Atlantic City).
The Bears rallied in the fourth for a pair of runs, however, ending the scoring for the contest.
Gettysburg returns to action on Tuesday, Apr. 24 with a Centennial Conference doubleheader at home against Western Maryland. Game one starts at 3:30 p.m.
