GENEVA, N.Y. – Meghan Genovese scored six times and Megan Shea added five goals to lead top-seeded William Smith to a 19-6 victory over second-seeded Gettysburg in the championship game of the ECAC Mid-Atlantic Region women's lacrosse tournament on Sunday. 
 Hours after her graduation ceremonies, Genovese earned the tournament's Most Valuable Player honors by setting a single-game career high with her six goals. 
 Shea added an assist to go with her five goals as the Herons (15-2) scored 10 straight times over a stretch of 22:42 bridging both halves to secure the title. 
 Becky Bucha (Waccabuc, NY/John Jay) scored two goals for the Bullets, who wrapped up their season with a 14-6 mark.  Anna Haugen (Bethpage, NY/Bethpage), Megan Murphy (Wilton, CT/Wilton) and Julika Blankenship (Crumpton, MD/Kent County) each added one goal and one assist in the loss. 
 Haugen set up Amy Farrell (Ambler, PA/Upper Dublin) only 1:53 into the contest to give the Bullets' their first and only lead of the game. 
 Shea scored twice during a 4-0 run that gave William Smith a 4-1 lead before Murphy converted a free-position attempt with 12:19 left in the first half to pull the Bullets within two. 
 Powered by four goals from Genovese and a goal and two assists from Amanda Wynn, the Herons went on a 10-0 run over the next 22 minutes, 42 seconds to take a commanding 14-2 lead with 15:14 left to play before Blankenship broke the Bullet drought at the 13:59 mark. 
 Bucha scored twice in a span of 4:15 and Haugen netted her lone goal to make it 16-6 with 5:42 remaining. 
 Rebecca Splain made nine saves for William Smith while Liz Borucki (Medford, NJ/Shawnee) recorded eight stops for Gettysburg.
