EWING, NJ - The College of New Jersey, the
defending national champions, defeated Gettysburg 3-0 in non-conference
action on Wednesday.
Amy Swiatecki-McCabe scored her first collegiate goal
for the Lions for the first score of the game. Erin Pivovarnick
and Lisa Pelligrino also scored goals for the Lions
in the game.
The Bullets were outshot in the game 23-3. Christina DiTucci
(East Rochester, NY/Our Lady of Mercy) and Jenny Line
(Carlisle, PA/Carlisle) each made shots on goal for the
Bullets.
College of New Jersey goalkeeper, Victoria Nusse made
two saves and became the school's all-time shutout leader
with 56. Carine Doyle (Exeter, PA/Bishop Shanahan)
had a season-high eight stops for Gettysburg.
The Lions extended their winning streak to 20 games and improve
to 5-0 on the season while the Bullets fall to 4-3 on the
season.
Gettysburg returns to conference-action Saturday when they
travel to Swarthmore. Game time is 1 p.m.
